It is with a heavy heart that we lower our flags to half-staff, as we pay tribute to Officer Corona. Officer Corona worked for Davis Police Department and was fatally shot last night while protecting her community. https://t.co/S7bGBgkVtI sacsheriff photo

This week, our department, in partnership with the Deputy Sheriff's Association, hosted a Calibre Press training course about communication skills for law enforcement. The final day of the class began with a moment of silence for the City of Davis Police Officer, Natalie Corona, who was murdered in the line of duty the night before. Nearly 100 peace officers from across the state of California in attendance bowed their head in remembrance of this vibrant, well-respected young woman whose life was tragically cut short while serving her community. We send our love and support to Officer Corona's family, friends, coworkers, and the community she served.

Recently, our Central POP team served a search warrant where there were a mom and litter of her newborn puppies, in poor condition. The home was not occupied so POP deputies called Animal Control to take custody of the pups. All of the pets were taken to Bradshaw Animal Shelter for proper care and potential adoption. Today, we are happy to report all of the dogs have been adopted. Deputy Le, who was one of the deputies on the scene, couldn’t stop thinking about the puppies and decided to adopt one for his family. Meet Khloe, everyone!
