Imperial County Sheriff's Office

The Sheriff of Imperial County is a historic position dating back to the first Sheriff in 1907, Mobley Meadows. While the position is historic, it requires a forward thinking leader to move a large organization like the Sheriff's Office into the future. The Office of Sheriff is an elected position, the only elected law enforcement position in Imperial County.

The Imperial County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the Imperial Do It Center, are bringing a little help, and a little light to families in our community. With a generous donation by the Imperial Do It Center, lightbulbs will be installed by Sheriff's Office Deputies for families and homes that need assistance brightening their spaces. Deputies will be reaching out to families in the Niland, Bombay Beach and surrounding County areas in an effort to provide assistance. The Imperial County Sheriff's Office and the Imperial Do It Center take safety serious and it is our goal to provide homes with better lighting to aid in the deterrence of thefts and burglaries. #projectporchlight #professionalserviceandprotection @ Niland, California

On Friday December 21, 2018, at about 1854 hours, Imperial County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 1900 block of Underwood Road in Holtville, CA in reference to a disturbance type call.
Upon arrival, Deputies located the victim of a battery with head injuries and began to render first aid until medical personnel arrived on scene. Further investigation led deputies to a second location at a residence where a male subject was found lying on the floor with what appeared to be a gunshot to the head. The second subject, a 39 year old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Following up on leads, Sheriff’s Investigators and Patrol Deputies located a suspect, identified as Adrian Alvarado Lopez, age 40. Lopez and a female companion were taken into custody. Several statements were obtained during interviews and various items of evidence collected, including a firearm believed to have been used in the crime.
Lopez was booked into Imperial County Jail for Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Felon in Possession of Ammunition. His bail is $1,000,000. The female, Jessica Michelle Noriega (36) was booked into Imperial County Jail for Accessory. Her bail is $10,000.
The investigation is on- going.
