On February 15, 2018 the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit, along with High Point Police Department Patrol Division and Vice Narcotics Unit, located Brett Coltrane Ferguson at the Radisson Hotel on South Main Street in High Point, NC. Ferguson had 2 Outstanding Orders for Arrest for Failure to Appear on Randolph County drug charges. He was arrested without incident and taken to Randolph County Jail where Magistrate McPherson issued a $100,000.00 secured bond.

On February 16, 2018 the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit, along with the Crime Suppression Unit and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Probation and Parole Division, searched a residence located at 935 Teresa Way in Asheboro. Officers located and seized 86 dosage units of Oxycodone. Also seized was $663.00 US Currency and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. As a result of this search, Pamela Beth McDuffie and Jeremy Ryan Ramsey were charged and taken to Randolph County Jail. Ramsey had an outstanding Order For Arrest for DWLR that was also served. Sarah Brooklyn Lowder was also present and was charged by citation for DWLR.

On 2/5/18, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a larceny in progress at 887 Pleasant Ridge Road near Asheboro. Patrol Deputies along with the Breaking and Entering Task Force responded and found Chad Darrell Dwayne Richardson, Sarah Mabe Dunn, and Savannah Lee Poston at this address. The subjects were in a silver Toyota Tacoma with a large amount of property in the bed of the truck. As the first Deputy arrived, Sarah Mabe Dunn fled on foot and the officer pursued. A short time later additional officers arrived and assisted in the foot chase and securing the Richardson and Poston subjects. A Patrol Deputy that responded and assisted with the call noticed some of the property in the truck as matching property that been reported stolen earlier that day. The truck was seized and the property was recovered. The property was identified as coming from multiple breaking and enterings that day totaling a value of approximately $2,912.50. As a result the following people have been charged:

RAMSEUR, NC - On Thursday, February 8, 2018, Deputies with the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded along with EMS to the residence at 4105 Bay Doe St. in Ramseur NC. The 911 call was related to a medical emergency involving an unresponsive infant. Life saving measures were started on scene and the infant was transported to Randolph Hospital. The infant was later transferred to Brenner Children’s Hospital, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

An investigation by Detectives into the circumstances surrounding the injuries that the infant sustained, resulted in the arrest of the mother’s boyfriend, 26 year old, Dylon James Kirkpatrick. Kirkpatrick is not biologically related to the infant.

Kirkpatrick was arrested on February 9, 2018 by the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office and charged with (1) count of Felony Child Abuse Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury and (1) count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. Kirkpatrick’s bond was set at $1,000,000.00 secured by Magistrate B. Ellis. Kirkpatrick’s initial court appearance is currently scheduled for February 12, 2018.

On Saturday, February 10, 2018, it was reported that the infant died from their injuries. Additional charges are expected against Kirkpatrick at a later date.
