This business is great with its community involvement. In addition to doing such service projects as feeding the homeless, they are also sponsoring my son's basketball team so that children who may not otherwise be able to afford things like extra gym time can do so without it being a financial burden to their families. Thanks so much, A Affordable Bail Bonds!

In the later afternoon of 03/03/19, Marine Deputies Anderson and Robertson responded to a 911 call of a stranded kayaker on Lake Merwin. The wind had picked up and the lake became so rough kayaker was unable make it back to Speelyai Bay. He sought refuge in a cove and patiently awaited the arrival of the CCSO Marine Unit. Deputy Anderson and the kayaker secure his Kayak to the patrol boat and he was returned to the ramp and a very worried and grateful spouse. The experienced kayakers checked the weather/wind prior to venturing out and were well equipped, but the conditions changed and became unsafe.

On 2/27/19, CCSO Deputy Z. Nielsen and Sergeant D. Nelson responded to a stranded motorist who called 9-1-1 for help, with his 3 year old daughter in the car. The vehicle was on Larch Mountain off of the L1500 Rd. Deputies had to clear 3 unrelated vehicles stuck on the icy logging road before they could reach the stranded motorist and his daughter.

The soft snow was above the deputies’ knees and the packed snow was ice covered and extremely difficult to navigate. Deputies were unable to free the car due to packed snow and diminishing conditions.

The father and daughter were assisted and transported by Deputy Nielsen to the Hokinson Market for reunification with family.

As you can see by the photos, the conditions on the mountain were nothing like the conditions in the urban areas at the same time. This father had a full tank of fuel and a phone charger and snacks for the little one on board and was better prepared than most.

Clark County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind people to be prepared if they decide to go up to the mountain and the conditions are extremely hazardous. The conditions may hinder or delay a rescue if you become stranded.
