****PRESS RELEASE****

On the evening of April 19, 2017, deputies from The Blair County Sheriff's Department Warrant Division, assisted the Pennsylvania State Police and the Tyrone Police Department in result of a vehicle pursuit. A vehicle operated by Stephanie DUFFIELD was spotted passing through Tyrone Borough by an on-duty officer. Duffield was wanted on felony conspiracy, corrupt organization and related drug charges stemming from her alleged role in a multi-million dollar New York/York/Altoona heroin trafficking ring. After confirmation from deputies, that DUFFIELD was said to be operating that vehicle, the Tyrone officer attempted to stop the vehicle. DUFFIELD fled the pursuing officer and led agencies on a vehicle pursuit southbound on Interstate 99. Just before the Altoona 17th street exit, PSP deployed a spike strip, which caused DUFFIELD’s tires to flatten and the vehicle to come to a stop. Deputies performed a felony vehicle stop, and DUFFIELD was taken into custody by the deputies with assistance from PSP and Logan Township Police.

The Blair County Sheriff's Department would like to send out a huge thank you and a job well to done to all of the authorities involved. The professional communication and team work among all departments played a key role in this subject’s apprehension.
