After 27 years of service Sue Brockman will be hanging up her headset for the last time today! Sue has been a telecommunicator with the Sheriff’s Office since 1991; She will retire as the last employee who was a dispatcher for Appleton Police Department, prior to merging with Outagamie County.
Sue, thank you for your many years of hard work and dedication to this department and to all the agencies within Outagamie County. You will be missed!

We are encouraging everyone to stay home and not go out on the roads. Primary roads are terrible due to whiteout conditions at times. Secondary roads are nearly impassable and people are abandoning their cars in the middle of the road. If you MUST go out, go slow as you might hit abandoned car during a whiteout. Deputies are going call to call so it may take awhile to get to you if you crash. Stay safe.

We have multiple reports of a person calling people purporting to be Deputy Jacobs of the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office. The phone number they use is 920 574 6424. The impersonator is advising victims they have a "federal failure to appear warrant" and ask to meet the person at our court house. Towards the end of the contact the impersonator offers to settle the warrant over the phone at a "reduced" fine or cost.
The Sheriff's Office will never request payment like this over the phone. Please do not succumb to one of these scams. When in doubt call your local law enforcement and ask to speak to an officer. Always look up the phone number yourself.

Anybody riding near Stephensville should stop for a cup of hot chocolate and support a great cause. Deputy Woods is a cancer survivor and asked for some publicity for this young man. Great job!

SSGT Linskens and Deputy Woods will be out on the sleds today. Make sure you stay on the marked trails. We have been getting several complaints of people riding off the trails and trespassing. As always, be safe out there!
