This is a good example of why this route is closed off to commercial vehicles.

Our deputies will issue citations (starting at $270) for any commercial vehicles caught traveling anywhere other than the truck detour route. https://t.co/pJKPyHWWeb

There aren’t many higher callings than to help those that were injured in the service of our country.

This week, MCSO was honored to help with the @wwp Soldier Ride on Sauvie Island, an event that gathers wounded warriors together for a day of cycling and bonding. https://t.co/NYLJqcOo4O

A rear facing child seat will better protect the child’s head, neck, & spine from potential crash injuries. This is because a rear-facing seat spreads crash forces evenly across the seat and child’s body while also limiting forward or sideways motion of the head.

Recently, laws were passed that are designed to increase the safety for children. The law requires children to ride in a rear-facing safety seat until they are at least two years old.

If you become lost on a hike, call 911.

If you don't have service, try to determine where you by using a map & compass. Only make a move if you're very confident of your location.

If it’s nightfall, you're injured or you're near exhaustion, stay in place. https://t.co/NEmuDRSDTv

Now through the Labor Day weekend, deputies will be on the lookout for impaired drivers.

This is a national push for safer roadways so please drive sober, no matter what city, county or state you're in.

#DYK that car crashes are a leading cause of death in children? In 2017, every 32 seconds, one child under the age of 13 was involved in a crash.
That’s why MCSO has extra deputies in the community to educate drivers about proper child seat laws.
