Washington County Emergency Management is partnering with Community Thread to streamline the identification and registration of flood response volunteers for public property. Volunteers are needed for sandbagging efforts and related administrative tasks at communities across Washington County.

Please like the "Washington County Flood Response 2019" Facebook page if you are interested in volunteering for a community. That page will provide registration links when volunteer opportunities arise. (Stillwater has spots open now.)

All volunteers must register before participating in flood response work.

Flood preparations continue! Washington County Sheriff's Office and Stillwater Fire Department worked together with the bridge construction crew to address equipment underneath the bridge. This work is necessary before water levels rise further on the St. Croix River.

Keep an eye out for water over roadways. Washington County Public Works is reporting water on county roadways in Marine on St. Croix, Forest Lake, Scandia, Afton, and Denmark Township.

Highway 95 is closed from 70th to 80th Streets due to flooding

MnDOT closed Highway 95 from 70th to 80th Street in Cottage Grove and Denmark Township due to water over the road. This section of Highway 95 is expected to be closed for several days until the high water subsides.

A suggested alternate route is to use is Hwy 61, Innovation Rd/Keats Ave and 70th Street.

Travel is not advised in this section of Hwy 95 until conditions improve.

When a road is closed it is illegal to travel in that area. Motorists can be fined up to $1,000 and/or 90 days in jail. In addition, if travelers need to be rescued from a closed road, other expenses and penalties will apply.
