Public Assistance Needed

On September 18, 2017, 08:39 am, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was dispatch to a report of paint balls being shot at the reporting party’s vehicle, on northbound I-25 and Highway 119, in Unincorporated Weld County, Colorado.

When deputies arrived on scene, they learned that 58 year old male was driving northbound on I-25, when a grey full size Chevrolet Tahoe drove passed him and shot paintballs at his vehicle. The victim was able to get this photo of the vehicle.

The Weld County Sheriff’s Office is asking for any information that may lead to the arrest of the individuals and the help of identifying the owner of the vehicle. If you have any information, please call the numbers listed below.

This is an active investigation and no further information will be released at this time.

Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies loved getting the opportunity to hang out with the kids and educated them on how important it is to follow the laws.

The kids had a good time meeting, Deputy Ong, Deputy Fortin, K-9 Loki, Deputy Adams and Deputy Farris.

Thank you to all the 3rd graders, 2nd grades and school staff from Range View Elementary, in Severance for welcoming the Deputies and allowing them to also share the reason they love doing this job. Thank you and have a great weekend!!!

Weld County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Disturbance

On September 13, 2017, at approximately 3:38 pm, the Weld County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a disturbance with weapons call in Raymer Avenue, located in New Raymer, Unincorporated Weld County, Colorado.

36 year old female told dispatch, her husband, Vern Wesley Johnson DOB 06-30-1978 was in the residence with a gun threatening to kill her and would not allow her to leave the residence. The wife eventually managed to get out of the residence and left with the couple’s two daughters who had only just gotten home from school.

While deputies responded, Weld County Sheriff’s Office negotiator was able to talk to Vern Wesley Johnson, over the phone. Once Weld County deputies arrived on scene a plan was formed and Weld County negotiator was able to get Vern Wesley Johnson to walk out of the residence without the gun and onto the street.

Vern Wesley Johnson, was taken into custody without further incident. Vern is being held at the Weld County Jail and charged with Felony Menacing, False Imprisonment and Harassment.

All charges are merely accusations until proven guilty in a court of law.
